Starstruck!

Like most other things I find, I came across her site “randomly” during a sleepless night of web surfing.  Web surfing to find ways to become a better photographer, ways to become a better business owner…reading blog after blog after blog after blog.  Simply web surfing to find inspiration from the other oh-so successful photographers out there!  I mean honestly, you really have no idea where life is going to take you.  But (if you’re lucky) you end up where you want to be without even knowing how you got there, and now you really have NO IDEA what to do with it all (in a good way)!  I won’t pretend for even a minute that I’ve got this whole photography business thing figured out… it’s a dream that fell into my lap one day and for that, I am blessed.  And each day I learn something new that helps me shape the direction of my craft and my business.

Well, I guess it’s a good thing that you can find the answer to pretty much ANYTHING on Google… even a random search for “photography inspiration”.  (And let me tell you, every now and again, we could all use a little inspiration).  So I did my Google search, and after hours of “blog-jumping”, I came across the oh-so fabulous Jasmine Star blog.  And seriously, two blog posts and 20 pictures later, I was sucked in!!  She has a way of blogging, photographing, presenting… it just leaves you wanting more!  I had to know more about this Jasmine Star.  What impressed me the most, was that she was a law-school drop-out who started her own wedding photography business just 4 years ago.  Four years ago!!!!… and now she’s got oodles of blog followers, 1000′s of fans on Facebook, booking top-notch weddings and an amazing brand that just won’t quit!  How did Jasmine Star do all this?  I simply had to know!  So when Jasmine announced the June 22nd Workshop in Orange County, CA… I didn’t even bat an eyelash and signed right up.  I booked the workshop, bought a plane ticket and made my travel arrangements within hours of receiving the announcement.  I was ready to be inspired!!

So there I was, 3000 miles away from home, away from Anya and the hubs… in a room with 19 other photographers who each found Jasmine Star in their own way… 19 other women who want to use their photography to take on the world!!  And let me tell you, Jasmine Star promised a workshop, and she delivered on her word!  I can’t give it all away, but I CAN tell you  that she really inspired us all to how to build a stronger brand, runner a leaner business and even be a better person.  She’s just a fabulous touch of inspiration!  :)   Thank you Jasmine Star.

Stay tuned for pics from our workshop mock wedding shoot… OH SO FABULOUS!!!
